Call for TEC Standards Committee Members
2024 TEC Standards Vision
- Leverage existing joint standards development agreement between IEEE and SAE
- Initiative with SAE started by IEEE RS TA in 2022
- Continue to develop IEEE and SAE relationship to surface new opportunities for TEC and SAE to co-develop standards
- Determine the direction for Transportation Electrification Technology Advancement
- Interface with Rudi Schubert and the IEEE Industry Connections team
- Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) Standards are the Hot Topics
- IEEE RS developed the “First of its Kind” PHM Standard, IEEE 1856, in 2017 with members of SAE
- SAE has established a standards development committee, HM-1, dedicated to the further development of PHM/IVHM standards for fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft
- Initiate Standards Surveys working with PES and TAB CoS to explore next steps after PHM, such as EV charging stations and new mobility electrification technologies
- Leverage a Joint Standards Development Agreement between the IEEE Reliability Society (RS) and the SAE Health Management (HM-1) Committee
IEEE Conformity Assessment Program (ICAP)
Conformity assessment is regarded as the industry-accepted method of demonstrating a product adheres and conforms to a standard. Conformity assessment can include testing, inspection, certificate issuance and registration. Through extensive program support, the IEEE Conformity Assessment Program facilitates and administers certification programs designed to evaluate and confirm product features and functionality as defined by standards.
IEEE SA Mobility Practice
The IEEE SA Mobility Practice provides a focal point for information and assistance across the wide range of IEEE standards and related initiatives associated with mobility and the digital transformation of transportation. The practice takes into account major trends and facilitates a broad, open, cross-industry dialogue needed to exchange views, to debate, and to agree upon common challenges and collaborative activities needed, including autonomous vehicles, sustainable transportation, and mobility services.
